Damian “daps” Steele has announced his departure from OpTic, while Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz returned to the active roster.
Optic are announcing another change in their Roster. Daps will be leaving Team Optic. He will be replaced by Stanislaw, who will be reinducted into the team.
OpTic have been playing official matches with the new roster since early September, shortly after they finished 5th-8th at Northern Arena with Jarguz standing in for Celik. During the last three weeks,Steele acted as the team’s coach.
In a brief statement Daps announced that the departure was mutual.
Today I announce that I will no longer be a part of OpTic Gaming in any capacity. After talking for a while without going too deep into details it became clear that it would just be best to part ways rather then trying to stay with the team.
I’m not going to write about every iteration of the roster and all the events we attended but this all started on July 3rd, 2015 after my 2 month break after being replaced on Team Liquid where I was given a shot to play again on eLevate and back than I was a lot worse so I have to thank RUSH for vouching for me to give me another shot at helping build a roster that would eventually improve over the past year till now. I am happy that we kept the core of NAF, RUSH and I for so long and were able to improve so much over that period of time and even though things came to an end and it hurts to not be playing with the team anymore I think it is for the best at the end of the day.
Regardless of any tension stanislaw and I had over the course of our time playing together I truly do respect him and his work ethic as that is hard to find with a lot of players which has helped our teams success ever since we picked him up last year. Stanislaw is a really good player, very smart and will do an excellent job leading the team in the future.
I still consider them my friends and even if I am not apart of the team anymore it still makes me happy to see something I helped build with them over a year ago continue to succeed so I wish them the best.
I would also like to thank H3cz, J and everyone else in OpTic for giving us the opportunity at the start of the year to be a part of the biggest brand in esports and for supporting us through the good times and the bad times. One of the things I will miss the most is the support of the fans from OpTic as I have never experienced anything like that with any team I have ever been apart of which made our lows easier to get through and also made us feel appreciated when we succeeded. So a big thanks to all the fans from the Green Wall!
This will now be the 2nd team I will be parting ways with since the start of 2014:
RONIN5/NGE -> LunatiK eSports -> Denial eSports -> Team Liquid
eLevate -> Sponsorless -> Conquest -> OpTic Gaming
Today I will be playing in the WESG Canadian qualifier with a pug for fun to try and make it to Brazil/China. As for my future I am uncertain. There are many paths I can explore and maybe attempting to start from scratch for a 3rd time is a possibility but I am not going to jump into anything too fast. I do still want to stay in the esports industry as I have a passion for it and I am open to whatever may present itself.
daps has announced that Stanislaw will be taking over the leadership role.
OpTic now have the following active roster:
