EG.Jaedong retires from professional Gaming

Evil Geniuses have announced via their website that Jaedong will be retiring as a player. Jaedong has been one of the most succesful players in the scene with multiple victories across tournaments.

Having consistently placed in the top 3 of the world in major tournaments, Jaedong has established himself as one of the premier players to have played the game. A thorough list of all his achievements can be found on Liquipedia.

He was the winner of the ASUS ROG starcraft championships as well as the World eSport Championship held in 2013.

Evil Geniuses (EG), a premiere professional gaming team, announces that one of the team’s most successful and visible StarCraft 2 players, Lee ‘Jaedong’ Jae Dong will officially retire as a player. An absolute legend of the Brood War era, and EG player since 2012, Jaedong will don his player jersey for one last time during BlizzCon this coming weekend.

EGJaedong also released a statement :

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget the three years I spent with team EG. I made so many great memories while being active overseas, and I would like to say thank you to my teammates and the staff who always treated me with kindness. Thanks to EG, I was able to meet many new people and my attitude toward my own life changed while travelling through various places around the world. I believe that the time I spent here matured me not just as a gamer, but also as a human being. I will always cheer for Team EG’s success in the future. May EG be the best and everlasting team.

Jaedong will always be a part of EG’s story, and while we’re sorry to lose him as a player he will always remain a close friend to the team. Make sure you’re following Jaedong on Facebook and Twitter.
