ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2017 – Prize pool talk

ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2017 will host a $1,000,000 prize pool

ELEAGUE is once again deciding to further reinvest in the competitive cs.go scene with it’s announcement of a $1,000,000 USD prize pool. This is comparatively much larger when you look at other ESL or DreamHack events who usually alter between $50,000 and $250,000 depending if it’s a major of minor event. However, some are not happy with ELEAGUE’s decision for a million USD.

While same may be trolling, some fan are seriously complaining to ELEAGUE that this year’s $1,000,000 prize pool is too low. They argue that last year’s ELEAGUE event had a higher prize pool ($100,000), and that it is unacceptable for ELEAGUE to reduce this amount.

Frankly, while most tournament series’ hold their prize pool or increase it, they do not have to do so. The reaction from the community is extremely concerning, as $1,000,000 is no small amount for a third party event, since they do not rely on the crowd funding through items or stickers.
