The European based team has been blasted with a major boost of funds from big name investors such as the Raptor group. The Raptor group too along with some major names in sports such as AS Roma and one of the best teams, the Boston Celtics. Not only will the Raptor group provide Fnatic with funding, the investment also provides the opportunity it for Fnatic to work with the financial group to further the organisation.

“There has been strong growth in esports, which has accelerated in recent years, but the major shift has been in the acceptance and inclusion by sports franchises, media companies and high profile individuals who have entered and advanced the industry rapidly,” Fnatic founder Sam Mathews

This investment reaffirms the continual growth of esports. Many teams such as Cloud 9 have also received huge investment this year, while some may argue this is unfair on competitiveness within the games, it is surely great news for the players. These new investment will allow teams greater capacity to train and mentor young and upcoming players which will improve the professional play we see daily dramatically.

The investment also strengthens the bonds and relationship between Fnatic and AS Roma. Previously this year, Fnatic was given responsibility by the team to manage their newly created competitive fifa team.
