While this seems like one giant joke and meme, it is true that Echo fox has decided to sign 5 major names into the North American Challengers team. It’s well known public knowledge that Echo Fox is owned by Rick Fox, a famous muilti millionair whom decided to invest in esports a few year ago. The new NA CS team is made up of some of the biggest names in League of Legends, including 2 players who use to be at the top of their role, along with 3 other former pro players, turned streamer.
Echo Fox’s NA CS roster:
Marcus “Dyrus” Hill
Michael “Imaqtpie” Santana
William “Scarra” Li
Danny “Shiphtur” Le
Joedat “Voyboy” Esfahani
Mark “MarkZ” Zimmerman (coach)
This roster is likely to be words hundreds of thousands, or even millions. However, it is also possible that this is a simple gathering of friends wishing to go under the Echo Fox name for some publicity. While this may not help the players on the team, in terms of gaining more exposure as combined, they rake in tens of millions of views a week, it ia great opportunity for the Echo Fox management. Imaqtpie mentioned that while th just e team will play hard and try to win, it’s more of gaining a fun experience and feeling what it’s like to re-enter the pro scene.
In the end, this move is likely just to simply please their fans and create some memes in the future, and to prove they are not really that “washed up”.
