Team Impulse vs. Renegades – NA LCS 2016 – Week 9 – Day 1 – Preview
Team Impulse vs. Renegades are matched up against each other for the North American League of Legends Challenger Series to be held Saturday March 19, 2016 in Day 1, Week 9 of the competition.
Feng : Seraph
Procxin : Crumbz
Pirean : Ninja
Mash : Freeze
Gate : Hakuho
Fighting to get the 7th place spot, Team Impulse, despite losing to C9 and TSM, have won against the likes of NRG, proving that they do have the capability to win games. Procxin is able to carry from the jungle, and Pirean is consistent at mid. Gate is also very good at support, able to protect the rest of his team, tank and provide crowd control, or able to create picks and opportunities for his team to get leads. Overall, the team is good, but not quite good enough to beat the teams above them.
For Renegades, their win against TSM could inspire them to have a late split surge up the standings and they could reach as high as 8th place, which would give them a much better chance when going into the relegation tournament. Seraph was very dominant in the top lane and Ninja was able to hold mid lane against Bjergsen, as well as Freeze staying safe and deal tonnes of damage in teamfights. They may have more confidence and communication which could lead to more wins.
Overall, this should be a close game, as both teams could throw, counter throw and fail to catch their enemies throws, so both teams have a roughly even chance of victory, but I give a small edge to Renegades, based on their performance last week.
Chance of victory: Team Impulse: 47% : Renegades: 53%
Counter Logic Gaming vs. NRG Esports – NA LCS 2016 – Week 9 – Day 1 – Preview
Counter Logic Gaming vs. NRG Esports are matched up against each other for the North American League of Legends Challenger Series to be held Saturday March 19, 2016 in Day 1, Week 9 of the competition.
Darshan : Impact
Xmithie : Moon
Huhi : GBM
Stixxay : Altec
Aphromoo : KonKwon
CLG can’t make it to 2st place, but they will want to claim 2nd place for their own. After losing last week to TL, they will need to make a gap between themselves and C9 by winning this game. As always, their roster is very strong, and splitpushing is definitely their game style. Xmithie has been strong recently and has been key in a lot of their wins.
For NRG, they are close to dropping low in playoff seeding, and could fall out if Echo Fox go 2-0 this week. They are a good team, but they haven’t looked too strong against teams above them recently so they may struggle against CLG. If Impact can stand up to Darshan and if they can limit his impact in the game, they could shut down the strategy that CLG seem to always run.
Chance of victory: Counter Logic Gaming: 70% : NRG Esport: 30%
Immortals vs. Team SoloMid – NA LCS 2016 – Week 9 – Day 1 – Preview
Immortals vs. Team SoloMid are matched up against each other for the North American League of Legends Challenger Series to be held Saturday March 19, 2016 in Day 1, Week 9 of the competition.
Huni : Hauntzer
Reignover : Svenskeren
Pobelter : Bjergsen
WildTurtle : Doublelift
Adrian : Yellowstar
Immortals are locked in 1st place and as such they may try to hide their power picks and use different compositions. This could be good as they may surprise TSM with different strategies, or they could over exaggerate their skill and fail miserably. It would be a risk to take, but they do have the space to try new things. However, with the egos of Huni and Reignover, they will want to win as many games as possible, and WildTurtle will want to prove his skill against his former team.
For TSM, they will need to stay above TL and NRG to ensure that their playoff run is as easy as possible. They could catch up to 2nd place if both CLG and C9 go 0-2, but that is unlikely to happen. They should still look to upset Immortals as they do have a very highly skilled team. If they can communicate and really show up, they do have the ability to stand up to Immortals. In my opinion, Bjergsen can win against Pobelter so if the rest of TSM can go even, they could snowball that advantage.
Chance of victory: Immortals: 65% : Team SoloMid: 35%
Team Dignitas vs. Team Liquid – NA LCS 2016 – Week 9 – Day 1 – Preview
Team Dignitas vs. Team Liquid are matched up against each other for the North American League of Legends Challenger Series to be held Saturday March 19, 2016 in Day 1, Week 9 of the competition.
Billyboss : Lourlo
Kirei : Dardoch
Shiphtur : Fenix
Apollo : Piglet
KiwiKid : Matt
Looking for the best possible seeding going into relegations, with the potential for 7th place if they get lucky, Dignitas are struggling, and could fall into 10th place if Renegades catch up to them. They may feel the pressure to win these games which that could cause over extensions, or over committing to objectives and kills. However, if they can get an early lead and get Shiphtur and/or Apollo gold to transfer into items, then they could snowball and run away with the game.
For Liquid, they will want to secure their playoff spot and try to catch up to TSM in the 4th spot. They are a good team mechanically, but their late game shotcalling has been somewhat poor and has cost them games in past weeks. Piglet and Fenix are the two major carries although they have been slightly lacklustre compared to last split, however they have carried when fed enough, which is where most of their wins come from. Dardoch’s Lee Sin is exceptional and I hope he gets to play more Lee, as he can carry the early game and make a big impact with that champion.
Chance of victory: Team Dignitas: 30% : Team Liquid: 70%
Cloud9 vs. Echo Fox – NA LCS 2016 – Week 9 – Day 1 – Preview
Cloud9 vs. Echo Fox are matched up against each other for the North American League of Legends Challenger Series to be held Saturday March 19, 2016 in Day 1, Week 9 of the competition.
Balls : kfo
Rush : Hard
Jensen : Froggen
Sneaky : Keith
Hai : Big
With a chance to get to 2nd place, C9 could try to get themselves a playoff bye by winning this game. Jensen, Balls and Sneaky have all been extremely good recently, along with Hai and Rush providing utility, tank and damage during team fights. With Hai, their shotcalling is always almost perfect, and he always knows what to do in every situation. Their teamfights are on point, as Hai is always heard and never talked over, meaning that the whole team knows what to do.
Echo Fox have surged recently and have a chance to make it into playoffs, despite having a poor early split, as their roster wasn’t all together. Froggen’s shotcalling is high quality and lets the team know how to play and their mechanics are all very good. Keith has been a good carry for the team and by the team protecting him, he can dish out tonnes of damage, skirt around the edges of fights avoiding death and making sure his team wins the fight.
Chance of victory: Cloud9: 70% : Echo Fox: 30%
