The latest news in the Chinese Dota 2 scene comes from representatives of Sports Information Center Sports National General Administration, Perfect World and MarsTV. They gathered at the Grand Hyatt Beijing to announce a new Dota 2 league that will not only recognise participants as athletes in China but also have a USD$1 million prize pool this year.

“The Dota 2 Professional League (DPL) will help further promote Valve’s Dota 2 in China while giving teams of all level a chance to perform at the highest level”
“Starting from May 18th, 22 Chinese teams will face each other’s for the next few months. At the end of the first season, the top 10 teams will be in the first division in the next season while teams that finished from 11 to 20 will compete in the second division.”
