NIP joins the EU LCS

Ninjas in Pyjama has bought in a position to join the EU LCS

As many esports fans know, an organisation is only permitted to have a single team in the highest level of play, in this case, the EU LCS. This forced a problem with the Fnatic organisation, as their Fnatic academy League of legends team won a placement to promote to the EU LCS. As Fnatic’s main League of Legends team was already in the EU LCS, it prevented the Fnatic academy team from advancing. As a result, the fnatic management was left with two options, to forgo the promotion and pass it onto the next team, or sell the promotion to another organisation.

Since it is much more beneficial to sell their position, they have made a deal with rival organisation Ninjas in Pyjama,  a famous counter strike team. Team NIP have confirmed to have received he position, as the EU LCS contract data bade now includes the renowned CS organisation.

NIP roster:

Kim “Profit” Jun-hyung
Ilyas “Shook” Hartsema
Kim “Nagne” Sang-moon
Martin “HeaQ” Kordmaa
Hampus “sprattel” Mikael Abrahamsson.

Benjamin “Zhergoth” Sánchez
Kwon “Hoon” Noh Hoon
Both likely substitute players

This deal and roster defintiely shows NIP is extremely serious to enter the League of Legends scene, as EU LCS spots have previously been sold for hundreds of thousands or even millions in other regions. The roster is also extremely remarkable, as they have signed two well known Korean players, Kt Rolston veteran ‘Nagne’ and former SKT player ‘Profit’.NIP joins the EU LCS
