ROX Tigers unveil full roster, will things ever be the same?

ROX Tigers have finally revealed their full roster after losing all their original members

It’s no secret that the original roster of ROX Tigers were one of the best in world, maybe even the second best team in the world even though they finished 3-4th place in the League of Legends World Championships after facing off SKT in the semi-finals. The match between these two top Korean teams were what many considered to be the finals, as most of the community held ROX in higher regards than Samsung.

ROX Tigers announced they will be taking on 5 new members on their starting roster :

  • Park “Shy” Sang-myeon, top
  • Heo “Lindarang” Man-heung, top
  • Yoon “SeongHwan” Seong-hwan, jungle
  • Son “Mickey” Young-min, mid
  • Gwon “Sangyoon” Sang-yun, AD carry
  • Kim “Key” Han-gi, support

It is likely that Shy will be on the starting roster as the top-laner as he has much more international experience and recognition than Lindarang. This will mean Lindarang will likely take a substitute role, however, this has yet to be confirmed by the team.

I doubt ROX Tigers will ever be the same and see the same glory the did in the 2016 season, as the roster has been completely changed after each individual player end up getting poached by other teams. SKT and Samsung White too faced this problems, while SKT did end up boucing back after many of their players getting swooped away, Samsung White was not that lucky and completely disbanded following poor performance. I hope the new ROX roster will continue to be a top Korea team, but I believe they have hit their best and will never see the same success with player such as “Smeb”, “PraY” and “Peanut”, all top tier Korean / world class players.
