Splyce has announced they will be parting ways with YamatoCannon
“I’ve loved working with Jacob up to this point, I think he’s done a lot of great stuff for our organization. He built Splyce League of Legends to what it is today and really I don’t think you’ll find a player who’d come through our organization that can say anything other than, he’s helped them become a better player,”
Statement from management
While some may consider Splyce a fairly strong team, their under than expected performance at the quester finals at the 2017 EU LCS Spring Playoffs has increased tensions within the team. As a result, the weight of being unable to advance to the finals of the 2017 EU LCS Spring Playoffs has been placed on Head coach YamatoCannon. Splyce had went up against Misfits in the quarter finals, there they lose 3-2 in an extremely close best of 5 series. It was definitely disappointing for Splyce to lose so close to the end, where they almost made it to their goal of reaching the finals.
The management of the Splyce team has recently announced that they will be parting ways with the head coach mutually. Splyce’s CEO announced that with YamatoCannon, they had hit a wall which prevented them from advancing any further. This likely suggest that YamatoCannon could only do so much as the head coach, and it is extremely likely they already have a few candidates for the now open position.
YamatoCannon has been coaching the team since January 2016 and lead them to entering the 2016 League of Legends World Championships, a major achievement for the team.
