Following the disqualification of several top players for the upcoming Boston Major, Valve had made a small change in their rules leading upto the Major. The change which has gone unnoticed by the majority of the community has the potential to be abused by organisations and players alike.
The ruling clearly states that teams that have qualified for the Major can invite substitutes from teams that have not qualified for the Major. In Dota2, players cannot be substituted mid – tournament. This has the potential to be abused by certain teams. They can bench the players prior to the Major and include some player from a team that has not managed to qualify for the tournament.
What do you think about the rule update? Does it need more clarifications and updates from Valve? Let us know in the comment below.
