Vici Gaming vs. Energy Pace maker are matched up against each other for the Tencent LoL Pro League Series to be held Friday March 18, 2016 in Day 2, Week 7 of the competition.
You might imagine that forking out $860,000 USD for a mid laner would leverage your team to at least being world class. But. They. Were. Wrong. Vici have been struggling to take off in the standings and are currently second last in their group. That being said, every win they gain will allow them to draw or take over the team ahead of them. Vici’s problems stem from their weak early game and their inability to control their aggression or prepare for aggressive moves made by the opponent. Messy mid game team fights and poor vision has resulted in a lot of surprises for them – not good ones either.
Energy Pace Maker are stuck at the bottom of the standings. There isn’t much that they can do to make a break for the top 3 in Group A. The rookie team have shown that they are capable of making some good plays, especially during last week’s battle against Royal where they abused Insec’s farm heavy Master Yi. They showed good wards in that game (that allowed for deep teleports) and strong turret diving cohesion. Despite having relatively mechanically gifted players, they tend to tunnel vision too hard on objectives resulting in pointless fights that snowball the enemy.
Overall, I wouldn’t say this match-up is one-sided. Energy need to focus on making good decisions and staying true to them rather than falling for the distractions. This may be their only opportunity to break the odds and beat a team that is trying to get itself together.
Predictions: Vici Gaming 65% | Energy Pace Maker 35%
