Youtube red announces scripted eSports show

Youtube red which offers ad-free youtube viewing along with unlimited access to Google Play Music has announced a new scripted show based on eSports. This was reported by Variety as it details on current and future endeavours of Youtube red.


Executive produced by Community’s Dan Harmon, the untitled comedy will center on a new esports team “trying to make it to the top in the cutthroat world of competitive gaming,” according to Variety.

The show is scheduled to be a six episode, half-hour scripted, comedy series. The talent lineup includes YouTube stars Dan Avidan and Arin Hanson of “Game Grumps,” with the sitcom also airing on Game Grumps’s YouTube channel in 2017.


Bleacher Report’s Michele Morrow and YouTube personality Jesse Cox, who created the show, will act in the series. The six debut series will debut on the Game Grumps YouTube channel. Michael Waldron, Steve Levy, Arin Hanson, Brent Lilley are also named as executive producers.

Rick and Morty writers Sarah Carbiener and Erica Rosbe will write and run the show.
